Magic: The Gathering Head Designer Confirms The Number of Mechanics in Modern Horizons is in Double Digits

Wizards of the Coast

Modern Horizons, the first ever straight-to-Modern format Magic: The Gathering set, is going to be released next month, and fans are already craving to learn more details from the upcoming set. Today, Magic head designer Mark Rosewater has confirmed on his Blogatog that the number of mechanics in Modern Horizons will be in the double digits.

Earlier this week, Rosewater revealed that Modern Horizons will be a love letter to the Time Spiral block. This led the fan to ask the question about the number of mechanics in the innovative set. Rosewater also confirmed that the set has a lot of old references in the same post.

Wizards of the Coast have only revealed two cards from Modern Horizons: Cabal Therapist and Serra the Benevolent, so we still don't know what mechanics will be featured in the set. However, since it's considered a love letter to the Time Spiral block, the chances of seeing Time Spiral mechanics like Suspend, Storm, and Morph return are good.

What mechanics would you like to see in Modern Horizons?
