Luke Skywalker's Lightsaber 'Lives' in Star Wars: Episode IX

After Luke Skywalker's lightsaber was destroyed during the climax of Star Wars: The Last Jedi, fans wondered about what weapon Rey would use during Star Wars: Episode IX. It seemed like the "last" Jedi would have to start from scratch or build a new lightsaber, but if the interview during Star Wars Celebration means anything, it looks like we haven't seen the last of Luke's weapon.

During the Celebration, actress Daisy Ridley was asked about the lightsaber in question and the actress, without spoiling anything, simply stated that Luke's lightsaber "lives" in Episode IX. This has huge implications for what weapon Rey could be using and might even hint at Luke Skywalker's possible return.

I mean, they already confirmed that Mark Hamill would be returning. You can't just bring him back for a quick flashback.

We also get some great images of Rey with her old staff, which is great for fans of The Force Awakens. Before using the lightsaber, she was pretty adept with this staff and used it to beat up some bounty hunters and stormtroopers. She will probably get some great action sequences with this weapon before we see Luke's "alive" lightsaber.

Star Wars: Episode IX comes out on December 20.
