Los Angeles To Honor Adam West With An Actual Bat-Signal Lighting

The world mourned when Batman icon Adam West passed away earlier this week after battling with leukemia. Famous for the skin-tight-suit-wearing Dark Knight in the campy Batman television series and movie in the 60's, many felt pained by the Batman legend's death.

Many fans and Batman stars have aired out their pain over West's passing on social media, with many paying tribute to the American actor and his legacy.

Now, according to DC Comics (via Screen Rant)the entire city of Los Angeles is trying to honor West by coming together to light up their own real-life Bat Signal for the Batman legend. The signal is to be lit by Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti and L.A.P.D. Chief Charlie Beck this Thursday, June 15 at 9 pm at the City Hall and is to be projected onto the LA City Hall tower. "Bat-Guests" are also promised to come into attendance during the lighting ceremony.

To further honor West, fans are encouraged to attend the event in their sixties Batman outfit and to donate to the Adam West Memorial Fund, the proceeds of which will be donated to Camp Rainbow Gold and to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

With its costumed fans and its Bat-Signal lighting, the entire event is a wonderful way to honor the actor who's become one of the most iconic Batman actors in history.
