Logan Originally Included Sabretooth

It could've been a reunion after eight years since X-Men Origins Wolverine. If only schedule conflicts and a few changes, we could've seen a final Wolverine vs. Sabretooth face-off.

Actor Liev Schreiber revealed this to Variety, stating that, at one point during the production of Logan, he was approached to reprise his role as Logan's archenemy.

"There was an invitation early on from Hugh [Jackman] and [director James Mangold] and I would have loved to work on it. It was very difficult given Ray Donovan's schedule, and I think they went a different direction as well with story."

Admittedly, with a few more background story supplements, Logan is already a great movie on its own. But the addition of Sabretooth somehow would've made a big difference. After all, Sabretooth has served as the shadow to Logan's personality, the part of him that he hates the most, but one that he also can't live without.

There have been previous hints of this possible role reprisal. An earlier report had hinted that Sabretooth could have been a source of help instead of trouble for Logan, as he was running away from those who were after Laura. That could've given Logan—and even Sabretooth—some sense of closure.

Still, Schreiber acknowledges that the movie itself was a great one. He's also all-praises for Jackman, stating that he has handled the franchise well throughout all those years.

For now, check out a Noir Logan when the movie re-releases in black and white this May.
