Listen to James McAvoy's Morpheus in First Trailer for The Sandman Audio Drama

While Netflix's The Sandman is going to take a while (THANKS CORONA), Vertigo fans can take some solace in the upcoming audio drama, which has one heck of an all-star cast. The series is sure to be a blast for those that followed those comics, especially with the writer Neil Gaiman providing narration and now we have our first look at James McAvoy's version of Morpheus via a new trailer.

McAvoy has always had a voice that pulls you in, which is why he was so good as Professor Xavier, even when the X-Men movies he was in weren't what most people would call good *cough*Apocalypse*cough*Dark Phoenix*cough.* His dreamy voice is perfect for Morpheus since he is Dream the Endless so I see no problems here.

I'd say they should consider casting McAvoy as Morpheus for the Netflix series but he is a pretty big Hollywood name so no one will blame them for getting a lesser-known actor with talent. That doesn't mean the Netflix series is going to be bad by any means but when you consider the cast for this audio drama, fans of The Sandman are going to have really high expectations.

Unless the audio drama sucks of course. Anything can happen.

Fans will be able to listen to this (hopefully) epic audio drama of The Sandman on July 15.
