Leia’s Key Scenes in Star Wars: Episode VIII and Star Wars: Episode IX Revealed

With director Colin Trevorrow scheduled to meet with LucasFilm to discuss the direction of Star Wars: Episode IX following the devastating and untimely death of iconic actress Carrie Fisher, reports also reveal General Organa's key scenes planned for both Episode VIII and Episode IX.

Yesterday, The Hollywood Reporter revealedthat Trevorrow was set to meet with LucasFilm President, Kathleen Kennedy to discuss the options that Episode IX could take following the sudden death of Fisher.

Though she and the rest of the stars from the original Star Wars trilogy had already given way to new actors and actresses as leads, General Organa still had a vital role in the future installments of the franchise. Two of Leia's key scenes in the films have just been leaked, and while there's no information as to when in Episode VIII and Episode IX these scenes will happen, they give fans an idea of what's to come in the films.

According to THR's source, these two key points for Leia in Episode VIII and Episode IX is a reunion with her estranged brother, Luke (Mark Hamill) and a confrontation with her son, Kylo Ren (Adam Driver). Fans ought to remember that Kylo Ren had killed his father, Han Solo (Harrison Ford) back in Force Awakens, so a meeting between mother and child may be one of the most painful scenes Star Wars fans will ever get to see in the upcoming installments.

Will Ren come out repentant or will he try to put an end to his mother as well? Will fans get to see Leia prove her Force-sensitivity in a battle with her son? Let's hope that LucasFilm decides Leia's future in Star Wars: Episode IX well.

Star Wars: Episode VIII is set to premiere on the big screen on December 15 this year while Star Wars: Episode IX is slated for theatrical release on May 23, 2019.
