Kylo Ren’s New Look And Executioner Stormtroopers’ Weapons Rumored For Star Wars: The Last Jedi

Before we begin, we'd like to suggest that fans who'd rather much remain spoiler-free before Star Wars: The Last Jedi's release to head on out of this page. This article will be discussing a few new character weapon and design updates rumored for the upcoming Star Wars sequel trilogy installment.

Last month word came out that Gwendoline Christie's Captain Phasma was getting a new weapon in Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

Now, according to a report by Making Star Wars, Phasma will get have two new "Executioner" stormtroopers to accompany her in a number of scenes. Though they generally look like regular First Order stormtroopers, fans will notice them with their black shoulder pads and the black strip running down the right eye lens and back of the helmet. They also carry with them an electro-pike type weapon.

The site also reports that Adam Driver's Kylo Ren will get a minor costume upgrade that may lead to some potential reveals – the ragged cape from The Force Awakens has been replaced with a full cape similar to the one worn by his grandfather, Darth Vader. Word also has it that the cape could have been Vader's as well. If true then it comes as no surprise. After all, Ben always had always been his grandfather's biggest fan. After what he's done to his father in The Force Awakens, it's quite likely that Ben's obsession with Vader would heighten further in Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Let's wait and see what happens then.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi hits cinemas on December 15, 2017.
