Krypton Season 2 Pays Tribute To Henry Cavill After Alleged Superman Exit

The future of Henry Cavill in the DC Extended Universe might be unclear but Krypton Season 2 clearly wants to continue celebrating the Man of Steel star as the reigning Superman. The latest episode of the Syfy series had an awesome tribute to Cavill as Seg-El took on Lobo.

Lobo had finally been introduced in the premiere episode of Krypton Season 2 with a strange purpose in the planet Colu. However, in the episode Ghost in the Fire, the bounty hunter realized that he couldn't find Brainiac because Brainiac has been uploaded to Seg-El's mind. Naturally, this turns out badly for Seg and Adam Strange as Lobo is determined to do away with Brainiac no matter where his consciousness is.

After rendering Adam unconscious, Lobo faces Seg, who is ready for a fight. But before throwing his first punch, Seg "reloads" his arms in a move that is undoubtedly a tribute to Cavill's iconic scene in Mission Impossible - Fallout. You can watch the whole scene below but the "reloading" happens at the 3:08 mark.

Not surprisingly, Cameron Cuffe confirmed that the move was indeed a tribute to Cavill.

The tribute certainly comes at an interesting time considering that there have been rumors that Cavill will no longer play Superman in the DCEU. However, Warner Bros. and DC have not yet confirmed that Cavill is indeed hanging the red cape. We'll have to wait for an official announcement about the Man of Steel.

Krypton Season 2 airs on Syfy every Wednesday nights.
