Kevin Feige Officially Confirms More Spider-Man Films Are In the Works

Spider-Man: No Way Home is now out in cinemas breaking a lot of box office records and having everyone who has seen it buzzing about it. Before the release, some fans are wondering about the future of Tom Holland's Spider-Man if he will remain in the MCU or if he will be transported to Sony's Spider-Verse. While the ending of the film gave us some idea about where the character will lead to next, there's still a lot of questions regarding the character's future in the MCU.

Several weeks ago, producer Amy Pascal revealed that they have plans to do another Spider-Man trilogy in the MCU after No Way Home although it was later debunked by The Hollywood Reporter. A week or so ago, Matthew Beloni of Puck reported in his newsletter that he heard that a fourth Spider-Man is already secretly in active development. But now, we have the official answer as the head of Marvel Studios himself has finally addressed the future of our friendly neighbor.

In an interview with The New York Times, Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige finally confirmed that Marvel Studios and Sony will continue to collaborate to make more Spider-Man films in the MCU meaning that Spider-Man will remain in the franchise for a foreseeable future. He said, "Amy and I and Disney and Sony are talking about — yes, we’re actively beginning to develop where the story heads next, which I only say outright because I don’t want fans to go through any separation trauma like what happened after Far From Home. That will not be occurring this time."

Feige was referring to a brief moment back in 2019 when Marvel and Sony's partnership fell through due to disagreements on their negotiations regarding their next deal which was eventually resolved after an outcry from fans. Fortunately, based on Feige's comments, it looks like it won't be happening again and we should expect more Spider-Man in the future of the MCU.

In the same interview, Pascal also briefly hinted at their plans for the fourth film. She said, "At the end of the movie we just made, you see Spider-Man make a momentous decision, one that you’ve never seen him make before. It’s a sacrifice. And that gives us a lot to work with for the next film."

It might take a while before we get to see a fourth Spider-Man film come to the screen since Marvel Studios has a lot more films in their slate in the next few years. It is great to hear that there is an assurance that more Spider-Man films are coming in the MCU and, for now, we should just enjoy and celebrate the new movie that we can now finally see.
