Kevin Feige Confirms Plans for Kamala Khan’s Ms. Marvel After Captain Marvel

Next year will see the release of the MCU's first woman-lead superhero film Captain Marvel, but a lot of comic fans have been asking if there's any room in there for current Ms. Marvel, Kamala Khan. Talking to the BBC (via StaarksHeart on Twitter), he confirms that there are indeed plans to introduce Kamala to the MCU.

Fiege explains:

"We're doing Captain Marvel right now. Captain Marvel is shooting right now with Brie Larson. Ms. Marvel which is another character in the comic books, a Muslim hero who was inspired by Captain Marvel, is definitely in the works. We have plans for that once we've introduced Captain Marvel to the world."

We don't know how exactly Kamala can be introduced in the series, but some have pitched the idea online that she would be a perfect addition to Peter Parker's circle of friends. The two characters are roughly the same age, and it would be fun to have more heroes other than Iron Man crossover in the Spider-Man movies.

There's also the interesting case that Kamala is an Inhuman in the comics, and that's where she gets her powers. With the Inhumans show cancelled, I wonder if Marvel is planning on giving her an altered origin, much like they're doing with Carol Danvers in Captain Marvel.

We don't know when Kamala Khan will be introduced in the MCU, but hopefully the seeds will be planted in Captain Marvel when it comes out March 8, 2019.
