Karl Urban Says They’re No Longer Sure About Star Trek 4

There's been a lot of trouble behind the scenes of Star Trek 4. Just when the film was beginning to set out for production, lead star Chris Pine and Chris Hemsworth decided to leave the project because of failed negotiations with Paramount.

Word about the film has been quite since then, and according to Star Trek actor Karl Urban, he still has no idea regarding the status of the film. The ShowBiz Junkies spoke with the actor during this year's New York Comic Con, and Urban was asked for updates on Star Trek 4. Unfortunately, it seems like the Star Trek star has very little to say about the project, saying he has no news about the film.

"I know nothing about Star Trek, I wish I did," he told the publication. "No news. Apparently, there is no news."

This definitely isn't good news for Star Trek fans. Based on Urban's comments, it seems like Star Trek 4 is currently in limbo.

A month ago, the actor had been more confident about Star Trek 4 continuing production despite the problems the studio had with Pine and Hemsworth, implying that the studio was still reworking negotiations with the actors.

"Hopefully, we get back for another movie or two of them," the actor told fans at the Trekonderoga convention last month. "We are just sort of waiting on negotiations. I'm confident we will."

Now it looks like things are at a standpoint. We'll just have to wait and see how Paramount deals with this issue of losing its lead stars.

Star Trek 4 doesn't have a release date yet but we'll let everyone know as soon as we get word.
