Justice League: The Flash Will Not Have His Costume Ring

As is the case with all comic book movies, Justice League will be taking some liberties with the original source material. The team won't have Martian Manhunter in it, nor will they be fighting Starro, but fans have come to terms with that. Ezra Miller also confirmed another classic trope that won't be in the film: The Flash's costume ring.

During an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Miller was talking about his fandom for the character and the costume, when he brought up the fact. "I can confirm, spoiler alert, his suit does not pop out of his ring [in the movie]," said Miller. He jokingly said sorry to the fans, saying "We want to apologize to the fans who are mad about the ring thing."

While it is a classic comic book staple, even the most hardened fans of The Flash will admit that it's a bit silly. Considering the current state of the DCEU, the costume ring would look a bit out of place with all the dark and gritty reimaginings. CW's The Flash did showcase the item in action during the first season, when Barry battled the Reverse-Flash, but the show is much lighter and sillier compared to the DCEU movies.

Justice League is slated for a November 17 release. Miller is set to reprise his role as the Scarlet Speedster for the controversial Flashpoint movie.
