Justice League: Possible Update on WB’s Stance on #ReleaseTheSnyderCut

There has been a lot of positive energy coming from #ReleaseTheSnyderCut recently, and even Zack Snyder himself has been posting photos of his original version of the film. Variety has just released an article updating us on the current state of the DCEU, and apparently, WB still won't budge when it comes to releasing Snyder's original version of Justice League.

Apparently, a ‘knowledgeable insider' has commented that releasing the Snyder Cut is a "pipe dream" and "there's no way it's ever happening." The site writes:

Logistically, however, there's little appetite at the studio for spending the millions of dollars it would require to finish visual effects and editing work on Snyder's version, particularly as "Justice League" was a commercial disaster. There are currently no plans to release a Snyder version either in theaters or on HBO Max.

What isn't mentioned though, is Jason Momoa's claim that Snyder himself had finished the cut, VFX and all. If that were the case, then WB would only really need to distribute the film, and not spend the alleged millions required to finish the film. Sadly, we don't have any further proof on Momoa's claim. All we can really do is base our hopes on the enthusiasm of Snyder, which has seemed to be doubled ever since #ReleaseTheSnyderCut made waves on Twitter a few weeks ago.

While people have been shutting down the release of the Snyder Cut for years, fans remain ever optimistic. With all this buzz though, WB has to have noticed that a good chunk of fans want to see this film.

The next film in the DCEU timeline is Birds of Prey, and it hits theaters Feb. 7, 2020.
