Justice League Dark Gets Art Cover with Batman in the Lead

As the name suggests, what we will be seeing shouldn't be the band of righteous heroes, but rather the dark side that each hero has. Indeed, Justice League Dark has received an R-Rated for an animated movie in the DC film arena, and it's just the tip of the iceberg.

This isn't surprising considering how the movie will be tackling the darker heroes DC's universe, including Zatanna, John Constantine, Swamp Thing, Deadman, and Etrigan the Demon.

Funnily enough, now that we finally see the art cover for the Blu-ray, DVD, and digital HD (via CBR), the one who's still leading the pack is none other than the Dark Knight himself—at least in the straight-to-DVD cover. Maybe it's the brooding and somehow questionable way that the Caped Crusader has been depicted now and again.

What's more, Justice League Dark‘s R-rating follows in the footsteps of The Killing Joke. The reason for this R-rating is due to some disturbing violence.

In the trailer previously showcased, the known Justice League are still in the movie, though their darker counterparts will be taking the lead on this one, since the problem are more demonic in nature.

Still, I'm looking forward to this animation. Most of the DC animated films are pretty much spot-on, so this may be the thing we're looking for following some dubious The Flash news. And is it just me, or does Justice League Dark promise to deliver what Suicide Squad failed to even scratch the surface of—which is bringing justice by being oh so bad?

Justice League Dark will be available on digital HD on Jan. 24, while DVD and Blu-ray will arrive on Feb. 7, 2017.
