Josh Brolin Discusses His Role As Cable In Multiple X-Men Movies

It looks like X-Men fans are going to see more of Josh Brolin's Cable after the mutant makes his debut in Deadpool 2. Not only will Brolin headline in an X-Force spinoff after appearing in the the sequel to Tim Miller's R-rated Deadpool, but it looks like Cable could even show up in another movie for the Ryan Reynold's Merc with a Mouth.

Brolin was asked in an interview with Collider whether it was strange having to sign up to play a character for a number of years, and it sounds like the actor's pretty excited to be part of the X-Men franchise for the long haul.

"No. We'll call it our limited series. This is our limited series," Brolin explained, "Going back to really fun writing. It's a great tone, anything goes. It's a really fun stretch for me to be involved in that comedic community."

The Marvel star also admitted that he was initially reluctant to join 20th Century Fox's X-Men universe. Apparently Brolin was hesitant to sign on as Cable but with some prodding from his wife, Kathryn Boyd, and a sudden shift in his schedule, the actor eventually changed his mind.

Catch Brolin's debut as Cable when Deadpool 2 hits cinemas on June 1, 2018.
