Besides the release of Shazam!, the DCEU is also gearing up for the premiere of Todd Phillips' Joker movie. The movie has already wrapped production, and it looks like we could be getting a trailer real soon.
This was confirmed by The DisInsider's Skyler Shuler who posts:
When asked about the release date, he says that it will come within the next couple of weeks. Just in case you're skeptical of what movie he was talking about, when asked about which DC film he was teasing, he posted this:
Of course, we can always expect plans to change. A lot of people were sure that the latest Shazam! trailer was coming out in the New Year, but we had to wait a few months before DC finally released it.
With a release date set for October, it's high time for the Joker marketing team to get cracking. Then again, they have to be careful since DC is currently focused on the release of Shazam!. They have to release the trailer to get everyone hyped for the Joker without taking away any enthusiasm for the movie's that's coming out in April.
I think it would be a good guess to say that the trailer will release after Shazam! comes out—much like Marvel did with their Avengers: Endgame trailer. They waited for Captain Marvel to have its time in the spotlight before they gave the full trailer for Endgame. No doubt they could be doing the same tactic with Joker and Shazam!.
Shazam! comes out April 5, but we can catch the Joker movie Oct. 5.
