It looks like Marvel still has no plans of bringing Krysten Ritter's Jessica Jones and Mike Colter's Luke Cage back together after that whole fiasco with David Tennant's Kilgrave. Not only does Cage still seem to be romantically attached to Rosario Dawson's night nurse, Claire Temple, Jones also seems to have a new boy toy lined up for her in the second season of Jessica Jones.
Set photos from the new season have made their way to the Defenders official blog today and though the man doesn't seem to be anyone fans have met yet in the Marvel Netflix universe, Jones seems pretty happy. Check out the images down here:
With a stubbly beard and a curly mop of a head, Jone's new romantic interest looks nothing like Cage, who will hopefully return in the drunken punk rock private investigator's life – after all, the two are married in Marvel Comics.
However, while this could be one of Jone's new love interests, it's also possible that the set images are actually part of a flashback as the new season will focus on how Jessica obtained her powers and the nature of her strength. Still, we're all hoping that we see Jessica happy in the next season – the girl needs a little break after facing off Kilgrave and then going through the events of The Defenders later this year.
The Defenders releases on Netflix on August 18, 2017.
