Japan Gets A Giant Deadpool Statue For Movie’s Release

If you think the whole world is familiar with Ryan Reynolds' Deadpool by now, think again. Apparently, the Merc with a Mouth still hasn't graced Japan with his presence yet. To keep the Japanese hyped for the movie's release, Deadpool's marketing team pulled yet again another stunt that is both genius and ridiculous at the same time – they are touring a giant Deadpool statue in major Japanese cities.

Check out the ginormous, 23-foot long, reclining statue below, together with former sumo champ Akebono:

The giant Deadpool statue statue is reported to be going on a display tour in Osaka before its travel to Nagoya and Tokyo prior to the movie's release in the country on June 1.

While seeming completely silly, it's so freaking huge that people will undoubtedly be fascinated by it upon meeting it in person, at least I would be.

Seeing the previous stunts performed by the movie's marketing team, this move isn't really surprising anymore. Nevertheless, it still is beyond my comprehension how they even come up with this stuff.

Deadpool is now available on DVD and Blu-ray.

What do you think of the giant Deadpool statue? Would you have wanted to see it touring your city?
