James Wan Urges DC Fans To Continue Watching Swamp Thing Despite Cancellation

The recent cancellation of Swamp Thing right after its first episode aired certainly had DC fans fuming. However, co-executive producer James Wan is still urging everyone to keep watching the DC Universe series although it will only last for one season.

Wan recently took to his official Instagram account to express his support for Swamp Thing. In the post, he also asked fans to continue watching the series. Check it out below.

"Don't really know or understand why #Swampthing was cancelled, but I can tell you this — all the cast and crew, and producing/writing team poured their hearts into this. Really proud of everyone's hard work. Go watch episode 2, and immortalize these 10 episodes. Swampy deserves it," Wan wrote.

There has been a lot of confusion over the Swamp Thing cancellation. Although it was initially believed that Warner Bros. pulled the plug on the series because of poor critical ratings, some reports pointed out that it may have something to do with North Carolina's state grant issues.

Warner Bros. has yet to confirm the true reason why Swamp Thing has been canceled. Nevertheless, all ten episodes of the series are still expected to air on DC Universe.

The synopsis for Swamp Thing reads as follows:

"Abby Arcane returns home to Marais, Louisiana to investigate a deadly swamp-borne virus, where she develops a bond with disgraced scientist Alec Holland. After Holland tragically dies, Arcane discovers the mysteries of the swamp and that Holland may not be dead after all."

Swamp Thing airs on DC Universe every Friday nights.
