James Gunn Protects Guardians of the Galaxy as Avengers: Infinity Wars’ Producer

Marvel fans have always knew that the Guardians of the Galaxy would pop up in Marvel's Avengers: Infinity War. With the studio gathering more than 60 Marvel heroes to fight off Josh Brolin's Mad Titan, Thanos, it's rather hard not to see Peter Quill (Chris Pratt) and the rest of the gang joining the fray. Afterall, Thanos made his full debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the original Guardians of the Galaxy movie. Now, as Marvel prepares for the production of Avengers: Infinity War, a new report reveals that even Guardians of the Galaxy's director is jumping aboard, this time as a the film's producer.

Just after attending the Golden Globes and confirming her participation in Avengers: Infinity War in an interview with MTV, Guardians of the Galaxy star Zoe Saldana went on in another interview with IGN to speak about the upcoming Marvel mash-up.

In the interview Saldana didn't just reiterate the appearance of her character Gamora, she also revealed Gunn's participation in the film, assuring fans that the Guardian's integrity is going to be safe in Infinity Wars.

"James Gunn is a producer on [Avengers: Infinity War]. I know that he won't ever let the integrity of what he's created for the Guardians ever be compromised, so I'm at ease."

The news may not come as a surprise to many – of course Gunn would want to make sure that Avengers: Infinity War's storyline wouldn't compromise with a possible Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3. Still word on Gunn's involvement in the film can be pretty assuring for fans.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is slated for release on the big screen on May 5 this year while Avengers: Infinity War is set to premiere on May 4, 2018.
