Isabela Moner Talks About the Live-Action Dora the Explorer Movie

After Transformers and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Michael Bay is now setting his sights on bringing to live-action Dora the Explorer. Isabela Moner is set to star in the movie, and she talks a little about landing the lead role of Dora.

Talking to ScreenRant, Moner says:

"Um, so I... of course, yes. I watched Dora growing up. I'm bilingual and she's like my icon. So I read the script and I wasn't really sure I was going to do it, but when I read the script it was so funny and it was so like, I think it captured everything that audiences would have wanted to see in that childhood, you know, star, obviously. And it is a leap from this (Sicario 2: Day of the Soldado) but I think versatility is important and it's up to me to prove to people I can do it."

At least from what she said we can surmise that the movie is going to have comedic elements. I don't know much about Dora, but I from what I remember, the show is really more on educational problem solving than actual jokes.

The way I see it, I think this movie is more for the adults who grew up watching Dora the Explorer rather than the potential kids' audience that Dora was made for. I can already imagine all the outrage of fans when they see Michael Bay's name attached to a project, but you have to admit, he's not stopping his work for whatever anyone says about him.

Dora the Explorer is set to come out Aug. 2, 2019.
