Injustice 2: Raiden's Costume Still Sucks, But His Finisher Is Amazing, And You Can Turn Him To Black Lightning

The latest Injustice 2 trailer has hit, and it focuses on the next DLC fighter: Raiden from Mortal Kombat, who has been the subject of some minor controversy. Fans always had mixed feelings about Mortal Kombat characters in the DC fighting game, and Jim Lee's new design for the MK God of Thunder didn't help at all. While his costume still sucks, fans will be happy to know that a.) his finisher is amazing and b.) they can always switch him to Black Lightning.

During the reveal, we get to see the Black Lightning premiere skin in action, and the DC hero looks great. He has the same moves as Raiden of course, but like the other premiere skins, he will have his own set of lines when bantering with other characters. Fans that picked up the Ultimate Edition will get the Black Lightning skin for free, while other players will have to cough up 6,000 Source Crystals, which is one of the game's currencies.

Another thing from the trailer piquing fan interest is the character's finisher - or Super Move if you want to get technical about it - which we only saw Raiden do. Said finisher involves bringing his opponent to the sky, blasting him with lightning, forming the MK symbol on the moon before the dragon in said symbol comes to life and brings the foe down hard. Without a doubt, it is one of the best Super Moves created for the game and might even make fans use Raiden.

While Raiden's new design has gotten some heat from fans, they should be able to get gear that will make him look better. This was the case for Sub-Zero, the other Mortal Kombat guest, who has plenty of gear that completely alters his look his initial look. Alternate gear also helped fans warm up to the version of Joker we see in the game, which initially turned players off due to its resemblance to Jared Leto's Joker in Suicide Squad.

Injustice 2 will be getting Raiden as DLC in October. In the meantime, fans should be able to download Black Manta right now. Hellboy, who has a motion picture coming in the future, is the last DLC character for Fighter Pack 2.
