Injustice 2 Prequel Comic Creator Hints at More Harley Quinn & Suicide Squad

Throughout the exchange of blows and destruction in Injustice: Gods Among Us, the two heroes who have taken front and center of the stage are Superman and Batman. And in Injustice 2, this hasn't changed one bit, even with an expanded universe at the creator's disposal.

As for the prequel comic to the new game, writer Tom Taylor hinted that the story will not only continue to drive what was established in the first game, but it will also introduce a few new characters that would continue the story. And those characters involve the Suicide Squad.

Speaking with IGN, Taylor revealed where he will take Suicide Squad, and how he will deal with the popularity of fan-favorite Harley Quinn now that the character has become beyond famous with recent events and movies.

For starters, Harley Quinn will embody redemption, a bit of hope when it actually feels futile in this universe.

"No one is completely right. No one is completely wrong. Everyone is acting, in some degree, in a way they believe is right and they all have genuine grievances. There is room for redemption. Harley is a character who embodies that."

She may be helping out batman in Injustice 2, but that doesn't mean that we won't be seeing her Squad.

"With all the problems in the Injustice universe, we wanted a bigger Suicide Squad than we've seen before to deal with it all. But this IS Injustice, so I'm not guaranteeing the lineup stays the same."

With that, Taylor says that it is possible that some of the SS members won't necessarily stay in the comic for a while. But there is one interesting point that he did share with a word of caution:

"There is something coming for the Suicide Squad that changes everything. As I've said many times while writing this book, don't get too attached to any characters."

We'll have to see what kind of role Suicide Squad will have for Injustice 2 when it becomes digitally available this month.
