Netflix's mini-series, Baby Reindeer, has taken the internet by storm with its exceptionally written story. As we start to learn that the show is actually based on real events, we discover more about the actors like Hugh Coles from Baby Reindeer.

Who Does Hugh Coles Play in Baby Reindeer?
Hugh Coles plays Francis, one of Donny's (played by Richard Gadd) friends from drama school. Coles' role appears briefly in an earlier episode, as Donny explains how he met Keeley (played by Shalom Brune-Franklin). But his character has more airtime in episode 5.
After Martha (played by Jessica Gunning) harrassed Keeley, Donny is forced to admit his predicament to the latter and her mom, Liz (played by Nina Sosanya). Even though Liz treats Donny as her son, she is forced to kick him out for their safety.
Donny then reaches out to some of his friends from drama school and Francis has a spare room in his flat in Kilburn. The flat is owned by Francis' dad so it was affordable for Donny.
Before seeing the place, Donny is hesitant and is expecting the worst. But as the doors to his new home opened, he found the place surprisingly refreshing and quite a steal.
The two catch up a little and Francis reveals that he is taking a gap year and is living off his savings.
It turns out that Francis and Bijou (played by Jim Caesar) had taken time off to "fulfill their cultural, psychoactive destiny." Or in other words: party with psychedelic drugs every night.
So that was the catch for the affordable and really neat place he would be staying at. Francis threw crazy parties for random people every night and Donny would often find his room occupied by strangers making out on his bed.

Who is Hugh Coles? Where You've Seen Him Before
Hugh Coles is an English actor who gained notoriety for his roles in The Festival, Atlanta, and Defending the Guilty.
He was also credited for the role of George McFly in Back to the Future: The Musical. This role landed him a nomination for Best Supporting Actor in a Musical at the 2022 Laurence Olivier Award.
He was also in Dreamland and Juice, a couple of TV shows from 2023.
