How Avengers: Endgame Did Wonders for Captain Marvel

Captain Marvel ended up making a ton of money for Marvel Studios, which surprised a lot of people. While it wasn't the best MCU film (wasn't the worst either), the movie's success was a big surprise to a lot of people, even its supporters. Most people are speculating that it has a lot to do with Avengers: Endgame coming out not long after the other MCU film and one of the movie's producers actually agrees.

Speaking with ComicBook.com, Captain Marvel producer Mary Livanos brought up how there were fans in a movie theater who were going to watch Marvel's first female-led action film while Avengers: Endgame was showing. Turns out that people really wanted to be in the know when it came to Endgame, which isn't a huge shocker, hence the flooding of audiences to watch Captain Marvel.

"I'm sure that it did. I myself went to go see Endgame opening weekend because how can you not, but it was really great. The girls at the kiosk next to me were catching up on Captain Marvel right before Endgame, and so that's certainly awesome and certainly helpful."

Admittedly, the character's role wasn't too big but she did partake in a number of great moments, like saving Tony Stark and destroying a bunch of Thanos' spaceships. She even went toe-to-toe with the Mad Titan, though he ended up using the Power Stone to gain an advantage. Hopefully, she gets fleshed out more in a future sequel.

Captain Marvel is now available in digital services, while the Blu-Ray comes out on June 11.
