Henry Cavill Is Under Contract To Play Superman One More Time

Henry Cavill has been quite honest about the DCEU's struggles and successes, pointing out the films still would have struggled had Marvel Studios not formed. Now that Cavill's Superman has returned from the dead in Justice League, fans have been wondering what is next for the world's first superhero. While he's not sure if another solo film for his character is in the works, the actor confirmed that he'll be around for one more DCEU film.

In an interview with the LA Times, Cavill revealed that he is still contractually obligated for one more appearance as Superman in a movie. Whether it's a solo film or another Justice League installment doesn't matter since it applies to both and he's up for another take on the character. He even thinks that a new installment can right the missteps studios have made with the classic DC character.

"Now there is a fantastic chance to show Superman in his full colors and tell a very complex, character-driven movie that is based on story and have that wonderful sensation of hope and happiness. A feel-good movie with lessons laced in there as well."

Cavill's portrayal of Superman has gotten a mixed reaction from fans, though some would argue that this isn't the actor's fault. His character was often bland and directionless in Man of Steel and was worse in Batman V Superman. Fans can only hope that a new film will do the character justice, especially with Matthew Vaughn in talks to direct a sequel.

Justice League is showing in theaters now.
