Hellboy Reboot is Coming, and It’s Rated-R

Guillermo del Toro may have closed the book on any continuation plans for Hellboy. But that doesn't mean that any plans for Hellboy to appear onscreen should be considered dead.

Enter Neil Marshall, who may be replacing del Toro as the helm of the project. But more importantly, the actor who's tagged for the role is someone everyone's familiar with. Stranger Things' Chief Hopper, David Harbour, is set to take on the role of the crass cigar-puffing demon.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Millennium is already negotiating with Larry Gordon and Lloyd Levin to be producers of the reboot. What's more, Marshall is already attached to the project, and even has a script on hand from Andrew Cosby, Christopher Golden, and Mike Mignola, the creator of the antihero himself.

So far, there are only two other things known about the project: it's that its working title is Hellboy: Rise of the Blood Queen, and it will be rated-R.

The two previous movies had been under the direction of del Toro and starred Ron Perlman for the role. Both of the movies enjoyed quite the performance in the box office, so much so that murmurs of a Hellboy 3 production always set fans and forums on fire.

That is until del Toro himself said earlier this year that the "100% the sequel will not happen." And that that was the final say about the matter.

It looks like fans' wishes will still come true. Now the question is whether or not this will be the reboot/movie we've been waiting for.
