When Pokemon Go became a real thing, a lot of fans, old and new alike cheered. Imagine what would happen if a version of Harry Potter (creatively dubbed Harry Potter Go, like the other Pokemon Go clones) actually happened?
While we’re not holding out for this, there’s a very creative trailer that shows just how it can look like. And it looks divine.
In the video, the app makes use of the Marauder’s Map as a GPS map in the app. Your avatar will be wearing Hogwarts robes as you play the game.
You’ll be hunting Fantastic Beasts with a wand, you can choose your Hogwarts House, and even collect famous witches and wizard cards. I imagine that your particular house will have perks specific to the values and history that your house holds. And if there’s a Sorting Hat, then we maybe won’t have the unjust system that currently plagues Pokemon Go’s Team Instinct.
The mock-up has also imagined that there will be collectible cards, which can be found at Magic-Stops. Expansion can easily include other interesting areas found within the Harry Potter universe. Muggle and wizard ports, anyone?
Of course, we’re getting ahead of ourselves. The video was created by Stargaze Media, and as far as we know, it’s basically just a mock-up with no plans of development whatsoever.
Niantic Labs has never hinted that it is planning any such project. Pokemon Go alone seems to be a lot of work, with all of the issues and current ban waves at play.
