Harrison Ford Discusses Whether Han Solo Would Make A Return In Star Wars

A lot of Star Wars fans were shocked to see Han Solo dying at the hands of his son, Kylo Ren (Adam Driver), in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. It's been years since anyone's seen the original trilogy star's in the Skywalker Saga, and many were hoping to see Han Solo at least reunite with Luke (Mark Hamill) in The Force Awakens sequel.

However, it seems like some are still clinging on to the hope that Star Wars: The Last Jedi or possibly Star Wars: Episode IX would reveal Han recuperating in a bacta tank. Though Ford has made it clear that Han Solo's gone, people continue to ask him whether he'd reprise the iconic role, and recently it seems like the Star Wars legend was faced with the question again on Live! With Kelly and Ryan.

Responding to Ryan Seacrest's question about whether he'd return to the Star Wars franchise in the future, Ford gave a blunt, "He's dead."

"I'd been begging to die for the cause for a couple of years," the actor went on to explain. "I thought Han Solo's got no mama, got no papa, doesn't believe in the Force. What can we do here? What's his ultimate utility? To sacrifice himself for others. Well, they figured a different idea, but it worked for them, worked for me, and brought on some fresh horses."

Right now, fans have two options. Insisting that somewhere out there, Han's safe and sound, or finally accept the truth. Which one would it be?

Star Wars: The Last Jedi hits cinemas December 15, 2017.
