Gwyneth Paltrow Teases War Machine’s Return In Avengers 4

The last time Marvel fans saw Don Cheadle in Captain America: Civil War, his character, James Rhodes, was struggling with physical therapy after the clash between the Avengers left the War Machine tumbling towards the ground.

Though we're not certain whether he'll be ready to get into his suit again, Ironman star Gwyneth Paltrow has just seemingly confirmed the return of Rhodes in Avengers 4. Speaking in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Paltrow discussed her return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, making a quick cameo in Spider-Man: Homecoming and appearing in Avengers 4. In the discussion, the Marvel star unknowingly confirmed the Cheadle's comeback.

"I went to Atlanta to do Avengers 4, so I'm in and out for that, and it's weird to go back and forth. We're growing fast, and balls are dropping all the time. But honestly, I was on set and thought, ‘You sit here for two hours sipping tea, Robert Downey Jr. and Don Cheadle are making me laugh hysterically — why the hell did I give this up?'"

It's not that surprising to hear that Cheadle's appearing in the sequel to Avengers: Infinity War. Rhodes has always been a fighter, and we're pretty sure that he'll be doing his best to get back to the War Machine. Fighting against a Titan armed with an Infinity Gauntlet will be extremely difficult for the Avengers, and they'll need all the help they can get.

Avengers: Infinity War premieres May 4, 2018, while Avengers: 4 hits cinemas May 3, 2019.
