We already know that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is happening but what are the chances that Thor will be joining the team in the highly anticipated sequel? Karen Gillan has just addressed the possibility and how it would affect the other members of the group.
Gillan recently spoke to The Los Angeles Times where she was asked if she would be interested in seeing Chris Hemsworth's Thor join their team in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Not surprisingly, the Jumanji 3 actress is already looking forward to how the Odinson will interact with the group's unofficial leader.
"Yes. I think that would be hilarious, to see Thor and Star-Lord in some sort of captain rivalry," Gillan said. "I think drunk Thor would fit in more, though."
Of course, Gillan is referring to the new Thor that appeared in Avengers: Endgame, who had spent plenty of time being a bum. We certainly agree that it would be fun to see how the Asgardian will deal with his new friends.
Gillan also spoke up about James Gunn being reinstated as the director of Vol. 3. The former Doctor Who star confessed that she was delighted to be working with Gunn again.
"I was so happy because it truly feels like we're part of this little family on Guardians. And to have your leader ripped away from you is a really weird feeling. I feel that it wouldn't be the same type of Guardians movie without him," she said. "So much of it is his personality. The sense of humor, his taste in music, the characters — there's so much of him in there, so that would have been quite a strange sensation to make it without him. We were just so happy when he came back. It feels like everything's as it should be now."
We're certainly glad that Gunn will be working with his old team again soon. In the meantime, you can catch Gillan as Nebula in Avengers: Endgame.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is expected to begin production in 2021.
