Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 Director James Gunn is Pitching for Moon Knight

Now that director James Gunn is finishing up the sequel to his wildly entertaining space romp, Guardians of the Galaxy, it looks like the Marvel helmsman is thinking of other movie projects to do – one of which involves the Batman-like, moon-powered hero, Moon Knight.

Responding to a fans suggestion that Gunn ought to include Moon Knight in the roster of heros for Guardians of the Galaxy 2, the Marvel director reveals that he loves Moon Knight and has a great idea for a solo movie for the character.

When another fan jumps in on the conversation to ask Gunn to pitch the movie idea to Marvel, the Guardians of the Galaxy director promptly answers that he already told the studio about the idea.

However, the downside is he also says that he's too busy for the project, probably busying himself with post-production for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.

For those unfamiliar with Moon Knight, the Marvel character first appeared in the Marvel comics in 1975 as a villain. Because of his popularity he was later made a hero and given his own back story in 1980 as a crimefighter with powers originating from ancient Egyptians.

While it is possible that a Moon Knight movie may not into fruitition, the fact that Gunn has already pitched the idea is good enough. Who knows, the Marvel execs might like the idea and we'll have Moon Knight movie soon enough.
