Gotham Sees the Ghost of Jerome Past in New Synopsis

There's nothing on Gotham more haunting as hell than Jerome's laugh. It's haunting even way past his death, and now, fans will be haunted into the latter half of the season as the character's return becomes inevitable.

The new synopsis (via CBR) of the show confirms that Cameron Monaghan, who plays the prototype Joker will be back in the game. Interestingly, he's not alone in the comeback nor is he the only who seems to be coming back from the dead.

The plate Elijah Van Dahl (Paul Reubens) will also be back for another round, though we have yet to learn how exactly this happens.

Van Dahl is Oswald Cobblepot's father who was murdered by his stepfamily of sorts. Oswald was almost framed, though he gave the stepmother a taste of revenge (quite literally).

The episodes where the two will return is titled Ghosts, set to air on Jan. 16 when Gotham returns. The synopsis for the episode can be seen below:

"Falcone places a hit on Gordon after learning that he shot Mario. Gordon and Bullock discover a follower of Jerome (guest star Cameron Monaghan), who plans to bring him back to life. meanwhile, Penguin spirals out of control before the biggest television interview of his Mayoral career, and Bruce and Selina deal with Selina's mom's return to Gotham in the all-new Mad City: Ghosts episode of Gotha airing Monday, Jan. 16 (8:00-9:01 PM ET/PT) on FOX."

Apart from the two aforementioned ghosts, other guest stars for the episode include Ivana Milicevic as Maria Kyle, John Doman as Carmine Falcone, David Dastmalchian as Dwight Pollard, PJ Marshall as Cole Clemons, Jan Maxwell as Margaret Hearst, and Dave Quay as Tarquin.
