Good Omens Casts David Tennant And Michael Sheen

It looks like David Tennant's got a lot of television bookings this month.

Not only is the Scottish actor being brought back to appear in the second season of Marvel Netflix's Jessica Jones, the Doctor Who star is also being cast alongside Master of Sex's Michael Sheen in Amazon's television series Good Omens.

According to a report by Variety, the show which is based on Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett's novel of the same name will be set in 2018 where the world is drawing closer to the apocalypse. Consisting of six one-hour episodes, the series will follow a fastidious angel named Aziraphale (Sheen) and a demon named Crowley (Tennant), two celestial beings who aren't too fond of the idea of the end of the world while havin g trouble finding the Antichrist.

"I first read ‘Good Omens' as a teenager and it's been one of my favourite stories ever since," Sheen told the publication. "To be part of the team entrusted with bringing it alive on screen is a bit of a dream come true to be honest. To work alongside Neil, who I think is one of the greatest storytellers of all time, is incredibly exciting. And, just like the rest of the world, I'm a huge fan of David's so I relish trying to save it with him."

Amazon cast the series pretty well. Sheen is a pretty good actor who could pull off playing the part of a finicky angel and Tennant's proven to be a very intimidating baddie in Jessica Jones with many fans considering the Scottish actor's performance as the driving force of the Marvel Netflix series.

There's no word on when the series will premiere, but Good Omens will be broadcasted on BBC in the UK.
