Godzilla: King of Monsters will Bring Back a Character from Kong: Skull Island

Kong: Skull Island ended with a teaser for the upcoming King of Monsters movie, and as it turns out, one character will be making a comeback next year—it's just a matter of who.

Godzilla: King of Monsters director revealed to RottenTomatoes:

"We do bring back one character from Kong: Skull Island."

He didn't emphasize as to who would be coming back, but some guess that Charles Dance's character will be an aged James Conrad (Tom Hiddleston). It seems that the character would be the right age by the time, but I would be happy if they brought in someone else.

With the first Godzilla kind of stumbling upon its release, Legendary's monsterverse seemed to finally kick into gear with the release of Skull Island last year. Hopefully now, Dougherty has found a right treatment for bringing the monsters into the world—unlike the misleading trailers for the first Godzilla.

The new story follows the heroic efforts of the cryptozoological agency Monarch as its members face off against a battery of god sized monsters, including the mighty Godzilla, who collides with Mothra, Rodan, and his ultimate nemesis, the three headed King Ghidorah. When these ancient superspecies, thought to be mere myths, rise again, they all vie for supremacy, leaving humanity's very existence hanging in the balance.

Godzilla: King of Monsters comes out May 31, 2019.
