Ghost in the Shell Clip Recreates the Anime's Opening Shelling Sequence


Yesterday, the first trailer for the live-action adaptation of Ghost in the Shellwas released, and it looks like it will please fans of the classic cyberpunk anime/manga franchise. Now, you can watch the new 2-minute sequence from the film featuring the opening sequence that recreates the opening shelling sequence of the 1995 anime film. Director Rupert Sanders also brought in the original film's composer, Keni Kawai, to record a new drum composition of the music.

Synopsis: 

Based on the internationally-acclaimed sci-fi property, GHOST IN THE SHELL follows the Major, a special ops, one-of-a-kind human-cyborg hybrid, who leads the elite task force Section 9. Devoted to stopping the most dangerous criminals and extremists, Section 9 is faced with an enemy whose singular goal is to wipe out Hanka Robotic¹s advancements in cyber technology. 

Ghost in the Shell will hit theaters on March 31, 2017.
