Get Ready for a Scarier Jurassic World Sequel

Everyone knows that there will be a sequel to 2015's Jurassic World, which starred everyone's favorite Guardian, Chris Pratt. But we don't have yet a concrete idea of where the sequel will take the franchise especially since it is technically a reboot of the original movie, Jurassic Park.

While there is still a year to wait out before we're given the sequel, we know that Pratt will be reprising his role as Owen the trainer and researcher of dinosaurs in the Park. There is a hint that this time, the trouble starts with some government-trained dinos—and even if those don't sound as scary, Pratt assures that, yes, they are.

Screen Rant was able to get in touch with Pratt to ask a little about what fans can expect of Jurassic World 2. And he describes that it's pretty much just terrifying and surprising.

"Aw man, J.A. Bayona? Do you know that filmmaker? He's a remarkable filmmaker. If you haven't seen The Impossible or A Monster Calls, I mean he's really visually masterful. Deep emotions and suspense. I think it's going to be a scarier version. A little bit darker and will continue to expand and carry the story forward in a way that is really unexpected and you wouldn't have imagined."

This was pretty much the same tone that Bayona teased Jurassic World 2 to be even back then. It makes me wonder if the dark approach is not just in the grittier sense of the word, but rather in the twistedness of using military-grade dinosaurs as weapons.

Jurassic World 2 is expected to hit theaters on sometime mid-2018.
