Geoff Johns Says Ben Affleck is “Amazing” at This Batman Trait

While Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice had been successful commercially, the same cannot be said with what critics think about the film. That said, it is quite worrying how other follow-up DC films, such as SuicideSquad, Wonder Woman, the Justice League films, and the Batman solo film will fare when they are released.

As a result, Warner Bros. has made major changes with its executive branch in response to the negative responses to Dawn of Justice. The company has also hired award-winning filmmaker Ben Affleck to executive produce the Justice League films. The Batman actor is also getting more hands-on helming his Batman solo film while working with DC writer Geoff Johns.

While we'll never know for sure what other DC films will give us in terms of character quality, it seems that we have nothing to worry about with the Batman solo film, because there's one important trait of the hero that Affleck has nailed.

In a recent appearance on Late Night with Seth Myers, Johns revealed this one trait about Batman that Affleck has mastered. He said:

He's amazing, but he's amazing at dialogue. When he reads the dialogue I just sit there going ‘Wow, I'm talking to Batman!

Dialogue plays an important role when it comes to Batman since his brooding personality requires it. In addition, John has said nothing but good words about Affleck's skill for bringing out more of the character in his writing. Considering the actor-filmmaker's work in Good Will Hunting, Gone Baby Gone, The Town, and Argo, we can be convinced that his delivery of Batman's lines comes from the heart, and we will believe his every word.

While the DCEU's launch had been somewhat rocky, it seems that we're offered some reprieve when it comes to the Batman solo film. I think it's the same with Wonder Woman as well, which is currently making waves in Hollywood and feminism.
