Generation X #86 Gives Jubilee Her Original Powers Back

Generation X ended up being a pleasant little title for the RessurXion line of Marvel Comics, so it's a shame that the title will be ending soon. However, fans who have been sticking with the book have been rewarded somewhat in the most recent issue. The long and short of it is that fan-favorite X-Man Jubilee is no longer a vampire and now has her original mutant powers back.

Here's how it happened.

As most fans know, Jubilee was an unfortunate victim of M-Day, the aftermath from the House of M event that led to 98% of mutants losing their powers. She then became a vampire during the Curse of the Mutants storyline, which actually lasted for a number of years. A few writers were able to use her new vampire powers well and it was kind of cool seeing her like this, though fans yearned for the days when she would shoot fireworks uselessly at Juggernaut.

During a battle with Monet in this week's Generation X #86, Jubilee is thrown outside of the Jean Grey School for Higher Learning, exposing the character to sunlight and killing her. In a move that some fans will appreciate and others will call a lazy retcon, Quentin Quire uses his Phoenix powers to make Jubilation Lee a mutant again, complete with her original powers.

It's a day many X-Men fans have been waiting for. Here's hoping that it's a permanent move since there is still an issue left before the series gets canceled.
