Game of Thrones Season a Day Marathon is a Great Way to End 2016

Don't have a lot of plans for the week after Christmas but still have a lot of time on your hands? HBO has just the thing to keep you preoccupied.

December is a great time to get into Game of Thrones, to prepare yourselves for the much-awaited seventh season of the series. So it's a good thing that the network is going to provide a new avenue for this to happen.

The network has invited fans to "rally the realm" and indulge in an intense marathon to welcome in the new year full of possibilities. Over at Twitter, the network giant confirmed that it the six-day marathon will start the day after Christmas and will last just before you say goodbye to 2016.

That's six days, one season for every day. That means you should either get ready for a lot of those early controversial scenes, the intense violence, and even reminisce the past episodes and previously-alive characters. At least for this run, you don't have time (literally) to get attached to any of the characters.

For long-time fans, it's a great way to relive the big scenes, like The Battle of the Bastards, or that one scene where we finally see Sansa transform into a ruthless Stark right before Ramsay Bolton gets his face eaten by his own dogs.

Game of Thrones will be back in the summer of 2017.
