Game Of Thrones Director Hints At “Violent” Turn Of Events For The Stark Girls

Warning: This article contains spoilers for Game of Thrones Season 7 episode 6, Beyond the Wall and rumors for the final episode, The Dragon And The Wolf.

Game of Thrones fans who've already seen the penultimate episode of the new season have already seen the palpable tension between Arya (Maisie Williams) and her sister Sansa (Sophie Turner) and now Beyond the Wall episode director Alan Taylor teases a terrifying fate for one of the Stark girls.

Speaking with Huffington Post about the creepy confrontation between Arya and Sansa in Beyond the Wall, Taylor decides to tease fans by opening up about a surprising and violent turn of events between the sisters.

"I think both characters have been through absolute hell since the death of their father in very different ways, and have turned into absolute lethal individuals. We're very aware of how lethal Arya is, because she's displayed it over and over again.

But I love the fact that the tables do turn back and forth between them; it really is a shifting back and forth of power between them in those scenes we had. And when Sophie says she won the Battle of the Bastards, she's right. I love the fact that these two come back, they're both lethal, and I just wanted to give the impression, as much as possible, that one of them is going to die. But you're not sure which one.

[…]Arya is certainly lethal and sort of threatening, but when Sansa sends Brienne away, who is Arya's natural protector, something is coming very soon between them, and it will be violent but surprising."

Given the tension between the two in Beyond the Wall fans have been expecting a more violent confrontation in The Dragon and the Wolf. However, previous leaks and rumors have said that this violent end may not involve the Stark sisters, but instead Petyr Baelish (Aidan Gillen) who's been behind the conflict between the two the entire time.

Of course there's no certainty whether this will actually be featured in the final episode of Game of Thrones Season 7 episode 7, but so far the leaks have accurately predicted the events of the previous episodes. Let's wait and see what happens next.

Game of Thrones final episode for this season, The Dragon And The Wolf is scheduled to premiere on HBO on August 27 at 9pm.
