Game Of Thrones’ Davos Seaworth Is “Sure” Of Gendry’s Return In Season 8

Warning: This article contains spoilers for the final episode of Game Of Thrones seventh season on HBO.

Gendry (Joe Dempsie) might have done a lot for Jon Snow's (Kit Harington) suicide squad outside the Wall by Eastwatch in Game of Thrones Season 7's penultimate episode, "Beyond the Wall," however Robert Baratheon's (Mark Addy) bastard son was found missing in the season's final episode, "The Dragon and the Wolf."

However, while the character didn't make any appearance in the episode, Ser Davos Seaworth (Liam Cunnigham) believes that Gendry will make his way back to the fantasy epic and its final season on HBO. Speaking with Business Insider, Cunningham decides to open up and express his hopes that Gendry would return to the series for its final season.

"Well I think he's recovering from his various wounds and whatever. […] I'm sure we haven't heard the end of Gendry on this. But I haven't seen any scripts, and I don't even know the start date of next season, nevermind having read anything, so I'm speculating as much as anybody else."

While it makes sense that Gendry needs some time to recover from his wounds, fans are hoping that the bastard son of Robert might make a quick return in Game of Thrones season 8. Gendry was brought back to the series for a reason. Jon and his men need a professional blacksmith to help turn dragonglass into weapons, and theory has it that Gendry might be the blacksmith to find the formula for Valerian steel. Let's wait and see what happens.

Game of Thrones season 8 premieres sometime 2018 or 2019.
