Full Trailer For Bleach Live-Action Film Released But Some Major Characters Are Still Missing

Trailer: Warner Bros. Japan

As hinted by the character posters released earlier this week, Warner Bros. Japan has released the full trailer for the live-action adaptation of Tite Kubo's Bleach. The trailer shows more of Ichigo (played by Sota Fukushi), Rukia Kuchiki (Hana Sugisaki), and Uryu Ishida (Ryo Yoshizawa) slaying Hollows, monstrous lost souls who can harm both humans and ghosts. The trailer shows Ichigo using his Zanpakuto and Ishida using his Quincy archery powers to take down Hollows.

Renji Abarai (Taichi Saotome) and Byakuya Kuchiki (Miyavi) also appear but sadly, there's still no sign of Chad and Orihime. Maybe they will show up in the film at some point but so far, the posters and other promotional materials haven't confirmed their appearance. Their absence in the film could disappoint long-time fans. It looks like the film will follow the Substitute Shinigami arc.

The film is based on the manga serialized by Shonen Jump from 2001 to 2016. I was hooked to the anime and manga series at first but lost interest because the story with endless power-ups bored me.

Bleach is set to release in Japan on July 20, 2018.
