First The Suicide Squad Trailer Possibly Dropping This Year


There's a good reason why people are excited about The Suicide Squad. In addition to its returning cast that includes Margot Robbie and Viola Davis, the film also boasts of awesome new characters who will be introduced in the DC Extended Universe. So when can we expect to see the first trailer for the movie? James Gunn revealed that the first footage is likely to drop later this year.

Gunn has been answering questions in his Instagram stories and one fan wanted to know if the first teaser will be released soon. Although the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 director did not confirm an actual date, he did write that it is "likely" to be dropped in 2020.

But when could we possibly see the first trailer? There are speculations that Gunn was aiming to release the teaser at the San Diego Comic-Con 2020. Unfortunately, the convention has now been cancelled due to COVID-19. Hopefully, there will be a chance to see the first footage from The Suicide Squad at a different event.

We already know that The Suicide Squad had wrapped principal photography before the Coronavirus outbreak forced several productions to shut down. However, that doesn't mean that the movie is close to being done. Gunn had previously pointed out that post-production is slow since the crew is working remotely. Nevertheless, it's good to know that everyone is working to make sure the movie is completed soon.

The Suicide Squad is still scheduled for release on August 6, 2021
