First Look At Marvel And Freeform's Cloak And Dagger Series

It looks like Netflix isn't the only one who gets to have a gritty Marvel series, as Freeform has just released their first look for their Young-Adult series, Cloak and Dagger.

The series stars two lovers in the form of Tandy (Olivia Holt) and Tyrone (Aubrey Joseph) who have found themselves connected after a childhood event triggers their powers. Here's the synopsis:

Marvel's Cloak and Dagger is an adaptation of the beloved Marvel characters whose story is aimed squarely at young adults. This live-action interracial romance follows Tandy Bowen and Tyrone Johnson, two teenagers from very different backgrounds, who find themselves burdened and awakened to newly acquired superpowers while falling in love. Tandy can emit light daggers and Tyrone has the ability to engulf others in darkness. They quickly learn they are better together than apart — but their feelings for each other make their already complicated world even more challenging.

I have to be honest, I mostly know about Cloak and Dagger as side characters from bigger comic events like Marvel's Civil War. However, the two do seem to have a cool dynamic, and I wonder how the series is going to bring them to life.

My biggest concern is if this series will be contained in its own Freefrom Marvel Universe or will it be openly acknowledged as part of the rest of the MCU? Honestly, Marvel, Spider-Man: Homecoming is making more references to the universe, and it's owned by Sony. Give the TV series some love!

Cloak and Dagger comes to Freeform in 2018.
