Final Fantasy XV Shows Off First Look at Character Creation

Are you tired of playing as Noctis in Final Fantasy XV? Then Square Enix's upcoming DLCs that let you play any of his brothers-in-arms, Gladio, Prompto, and Ignis, may just be a nice and handy add-on to explore.

But once you're done with that and you still want to play the game in an entirely different way, game director Hajime Tabata hinted that one way to do so would be through the character-creation system.

From the looks of it, the developer is thinking the feature through, with plans for the created new character to be available in both single-player and online multiplayer, too. Tabata revealed this to DualShockers, wherein the source was able to take an image of just where in the process the character creation tool is.

"The character creation function is actually in the works right now, however is not something that we can just show off, as it would probably not wow your readers at this stage. However, what we're doing right now is not just implementing a character creation feature, but we want to combine that with a multiplayer feature, so that players can not only create a new character but also bring it in multiplayer."

Tabata also touched on the current offer of the creation tool. Right now, the tool is able to change the character and morph it in a way to make it different from your friends' own characters. It's possible that Square Enix is looking to expand the choices for customizability of the character.

This is an interesting point to make, especially when there's mention of a multiplayer use. Are we looking at letting players differentiate characters for a more expansive experience?

For now, the character creation tool is limited in that it does not allow character sharing at the moment. The creators still have a lot of plans in store for the franchise.
