Final Fantasy XV DLCs are Meant to Enhance Gameplay Experience

DLCs are usually released to add-on the experience that's already offered by the main game. And while expansions have taken a life of their own in more recent games, they remain to be an essential part of the industry, and one that's meant to deliver more for the title.

This is exactly how Final Fantasy XV developer and Square Enix's Hajime Tabata defines its upcoming DLCs will be, in an interview with US Gamer. The first in what would be a year's worth of content for the title, Gladiolus's DLC is testament to Square Enix's goal of bringing this enhanced experience to its players.

"It's not that users have an incomplete version of the game and that we're filling in the gaps now. Rather, we've already released the complete version of the game, and what we're doing is simply enhancing that experience for people, or providing different styles of play for characters."

For the developer, this new change allows them to explore what else can be done in the game. It's also a good use of resources and time, and one that would allow the developer to put the focus on the other boys for the DLC.

Overall, what Square Enix has been able to achieve with Final Fantasy XV is undeniably great, especially in the new hardware. While Tabata does acknowledge the misses and bugs in the main game, he says that is had embodied what the team's vision was for the game.

Fans can look forward to Gladio's DLC coming on March 28.
