Final Fantasy VII Remake Demo Makes Fans Cry With Crisis Core Easter Egg

Thanks to the Final Fantasy VII Remake Demo, fans are even more excited about the return of this beloved JRPG. Everyone was already excited when they saw the first few trailers and though it was delayed, that hasn't stopped anyone from pre-ordering the hell out of this game. As we wait one more month for this game to come out, some eagle-eyed fans have spotted an easter egg that references Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII, which might make some cry.

One of the posters on the demo is advertising "Banora White Apple Juice," with Banora being a town that was first shown on the PSP-only prequel Crisis Core. Banora wite apples were called dumbapples, something lead character Zack and his mentor Angeal bonded over briefly. We also see Zack eat one with the game's antagonist Genesis, who originally wanted to eat it with Sephiroth.

Zack and Cloud were also good friends in the prequel and main game. Cloud was actually still training to be in SOLDIER while Zack was his superior and he somehow ended up with his memories before the start of the original game. It's a bit convoluted but if you played the original game then this is no surprise to anyone.

Final Fantasy VII Remake is coming to the PS4 on April 10. Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII is only available on the PSP, though we're all hoping for an HD remaster in the near future.
