Fantastic Beasts Sequel Teases Connection To Sorcerer's Stone

Though Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them was entirely separated from the story of Harry Potter, we still got some cool nods in the film. The sequel seems to be harkening to the very first movie, Harry Potterand the Sorcerer's Stone, and the Fantastic Beasts Facebook page has just given us a cool new teaser:

Potterheads will be familiar with the name Nicholas Flamel, the very alchemist who created the Philosopher's stone. Since Jude Law will be playing Albus Dumbledore in the sequel, his friend Nicholas Flamel is also set to make an appearance in the film and he'll be played by Brontis Jodorowsky.

We don't have any details on just how involved Flamel is with the story, but it would be cool if we actually get to see him create the stone or watch him tuck it away in Gringotts. We might even get to see some other old Potter relics like the Mirror of Erised.

Though I thought the first Fantastic Beasts was fine, I don't really think it has the same hook as the harry Potter franchise. All I can think of is that Harry Potter provided the audience with some riveting mystery in every movie. Fantastic Beasts felt like your usual popcorn flick with big CGI and simple characters.

Hopefully the sequel will do better.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them 2 comes out on Nov. 16, 2018.
