Avengers: Infinity War is coming out next month and fans are hyped up. We've seen two great trailers and they have led to a number of memes spread across the internet. One meme that has taken the internet by storm, however, is the one starts with Marvel saying "Infinity War is the most ambitious crossover event in history" and ends with fans presenting examples of supposedly better crossovers.
The creator of the meme, Bobby Palmer, has recently confirmed his making of the trend and expressed surprise that it became so popular.
Palmer said he made the quote up as something "Marvel-y," which made the meme seem more legitimate. Fans probably thought someone like Kevin Feige made the statement, so finding out it was just someone who wanted to have fun is interesting.
It's easy to see why the meme became popular since years of media have resulted in a lot of fun crossovers. We've seen a Super Sentai Group team up with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and The Predator take on numerous Xenomorphs from Alien.
Still, there's no doubt that Avengers: Infinity War has to be the biggest film Marvel has released. Back in 2012, it was hard to believe that The Avengers was being made. Look at how far we've come.
Avengers: Infinity War comes out on April 27.
